By overlapping color, lines, and textures, The New Frontier considers themes of abstraction in relation to the chaos that is ensued when exploring the new and unknown. This body of work was initially inspired by looking up into the heavens, or the expanse of the universe which human kinda has yet to fully understand, while considering recent explorations of Mars, Pluto, Juno, and Jupiter. The science behind new discoveries is not what is important in this body of work; but the precedence in the idea of examination and the attempt to understand the world that we live on and new worlds from afar. The human relationship with this idea of exploration goes beyond the geography, or the surface properties and atmospheres of that land in question. Thus comes the impression of observation or the study of these “landscapes”.
